Welcome to the Test

So what is this? Currently, it’s a test. This website has been hand-coded (with some AI assistance, but more on that another time) and is published using GitHub Pages.

Why am I doing this? Well, it’s something I’ve always loved: tinkering. I was tinkering long before I became a photographer. For years before going full-time as a photographer, I was convinced I’d get into programming and make a living as a developer. As it turns out, that involved far too much time spent in a dark room.

So This Is the Test

Does it work? I guess we’ll see. I don’t expect this post to last forever, or if it does, it’ll serve as a good reminder of when I inevitably decide this is too much of a pain and move back to something like Squarespace. For now though, I’m going to give it a proper chance.

As for Wayfarer Journal itself, it has gone through several different incarnations at this point, but I believe it has now found its final form. I originally thought this would be where I photographed weddings. Now, it’s more than just that. I want to create a collection of stories, not just weddings, but of people, places, and moments. The world is big, and I’ve enjoyed exploring it. I want to share what I’ve learnt and create new opportunities to scratch the surface even more.

The Journey Ahead

For now, I need to gather what I’ve done so far. There’s a lot, and it’s taking me a moment to collect it all in a way I’m excited to show. If you’re reading this though, it means I’m well and truly underway and realistically not far from having more content posted.
